many moons ago and i mean many moons ago i used to go the the QEFD show at loosely before it moved to the hq of the qefd then they gave up doing it. anyway when going home from the weekend show at loosely sometimes used to see the cars going to and from the cruise. i was put off going along as it seemed to be all boy racers with their boom boom euro boxes playing a load of c##p. having looked at some of the pics on here it seems that its either
a no pics of them were taken
or
b they don't go to it any more
if its b then i'll have to see about popping along at some point

Grin I remember the Guildford Cruise from, maybe 10 or 15 years ago, when it filled the whole of the Ladymead retail park parking area & even extended round to the loading bays behind the shops. Several hundred customs. Even a rock n roll disco outside the BurgerKing.
Eventually it was killed off by the thumpy thumpy stereo brigade you mentioned, racing up & down the dual carriageway outside, causing trouble in the carpark & generally being a pain in the *rse. The Police stepped in with speed camera vans & roadside MOT tests & within a few months the thing had died completely. Same thing happened to the Chelsea Cruise a few years previously.
Now both Chelsea & Guildford are making tentative comebacks, but in both cases there's just a dozen or so cars each month, mainly Yanks & 60s Brits. Guildford's still at the Ladymead retail park, (Halfords, Homebase & B & Q, almost opposite Guildford fire station), on the first Sunday of each month, from around 4.30 - 5pm. The noise boys are there but lurk at the other end of the carpark, until the cruisers head for home around 6 or 7pm. I know it's not much -a few cars for just a couple of hours, but it's local to us & if people are making the effort to turn out, we'll call in when we can too.

Hi, this is JayJay not Chevy Rick - as still no broadband of my own.

Looked at pics of Guildford Cruise and really liked the Skylark.  Is it somebody's off Manky?  It is lovely.  I didn't know what it was so I looked up Skylark and found out it was a Buick.  I was surprised to see how quickly the models changed from this beauty to something really boring.  I must like Buicks as I really took a fancy to the burgundy one that turned up to the Plough, when I first saw it at the CanAm event at Oakdale.

"All aboard the Skylark!"  -sorry. Kid's TV reference. Look it up.  Grin

Nope, not one of our crew I'm afraid JJ. There's a few regulars at the Guildford Cruise, plus newbies. First time I'd seen the Buick & he didn't really make himself known -parked up & disappeared into the BurgerKing. Nice motor though.
