Looks pretty scary to me, whatever system it's running! Tell me Critchypoos, how would you go about nitrousing a Reliant? Would the motor take it or end up as a puddle of molten ally?

Was he the guy who put a nitrous'd Gixer engine in a Bond Bug? And some years ago I seem to recall that someone went one better than a nitrous'd Reliant Robin and was running a jet-powered Reliant Kitten.

Many moons ago there was a Reliant Kitten with a Rover V8 engine in Street Machine. They had cardboard covering the windows, don't know why. I am a bit pi***d though, just had 4 bottles of beer and most of a bottle of wine so it could all be in my imagination

I had a Reliant Kitten once. Didn't look like that, though.

http://www.beardmorebros.co.uk/website%20pages/reliant_kitten.htmI thought the Kittens were just 4 wheeled Robins, whether van or saloon. My red trike engine came from a Kitten. They had a different shaped gearstick but not sure why -maybe the engine & box were offset to one side in the chassis? The V8 was built by John Beardmore & his brother Robin. They were regulars at the big Moggy Minor shows & rallies when I was in the owners' club. This is taken from their own site.

http://www.beardmorebros.co.uk/index.htmlHomepage of the Beardmore brothers' site. They were well known for building custom Minors back in the 80s/90s as well as a few other projects. Robin had a concours condition Moggy Post Office telephones van with a 2 litre Fiat twin cam engine, one of the first to do that conversion. After it was side-swiped by a coach, writing off one side of the bodywork, he rebuilt it as a pickup with huge sound system in the pick up bed, suicide doors & removable hard top. There's a piccie somewhere on their site of Russ Smith who owned a bright red Moggy saloon with the same 2 litre conversion. I used to regularly race him to owners club rallies in my 1600 twin cammed pick up. He later became editor of Street Machine -& I'm still a Postie.

I was only asking! Very tempted though Doubt I'd ever use it but it'd be cool to have it plumbed in! Would the little 40bhp motor survive an injection of NOS?

i think thats a reliant colt the kitten was a van pedant mode off Oh no it wasn't, 'cause I owned one for two years. Nrrr. Manky is right, the Kitten was a car and came in two varieties. The saloon looked just like the three wheeler from behind, but the estate had a door that opened to the side and looked like quite a smart little car. There was no such thing as a Reliant Colt, but you might be thinking of the Reliant Fox, which was the four-wheeled pick-up version of the Kitten (and could also come with a camper top), or the Reliant Ant which was a three-wheeler with a van cab and a flat bed or buck.
