I'm having the back of the van panelled out this week but wanted to put some sort of insulation behind the boards. Any recommendations for something that will work and wont break the bank ?

Steve did that with his own Escort a million years ago. Think he used ordinary loft insulation. Probably a good idea to seal it in with a sheet of plastic before boarding over it to stop dust creeping into the van interior. You'd be suprised how much flex there is in a van body. Try & leave some"flex room" at top & bottom of the side panels to stop squeeking & knocking & possible splitting of the boards. Steve reads this forum but never posts -I'll check with him for his recommendations, (he's a professional carpenter & joiner by trade).

Isn't loft insulation fibreglass and rather nasty?  Not the best stuff to use as Borgy intends sleeping in the thing sometimes......

Do they still use fibreglass ? Assumed that'd been replaced by now with something more eco-friendly. Bound to be an EU directive covering it. What about that squirty cavity foam insulation stuff?

I ended up going to the local Kitchen factors and getting a roll of laminate floor under lay. A 6' but lots roll was only £9 and there's loads.

That and the other stuff I now have will do it great.
