Done a bit of investigating in this area, conclusions are, very expensive unless you can get hold of a second hand electric forklift cheap.

I have been looking at building either a straight diesel bike, or diesel electric. Biggest problem is finding a motor for peanuts. Then you need all the other crap like speed controllers and stuff. Lots of cash.

I saw this years ago, but the website is still online. It would be easy to build, but the battery's & motor would cost.

Hello Peeps, I saw this one too and liked the idea, but as Reliantman says the motor would be a small fortune. Its a great site to look at though. I'll try and find the url. Unless you have it Doug? Regards K

They look abit 70s-80s though. Some of them look like they were on Buck Rogers, the series.
This is what I would like to do.

Do a search for "plasma boy racing" or "white zombie 1200 datsun". There was an article in retro cars about his two electric datsuns. White zombie makes about 770 ft/lbs of torque!!

There's a funny (if you aren't the guy) sequence of the builder of the Killacycle falling off without a helmet or any other gear during a demonstration outside a shopping Mall. That thing is seriously quick.
