John took some photos of the car minus it's roof & has promised to email them to us, so we'll show you our Charger Cabriolet when we get them.
On the opposite side of the workshop is another Charger, belonging to a chap called Mark. This is what we aspired to when our car first arrived at the shop, though we never really thought it'd get that far.

This week's "What's in the yard" photos have moved indoors cos it's bloomin' cold out there.

Opening the door & peeking out into the yard, a very nice '64 275 GTS Ferrari.
One identical to this was recently driven by Jeremy Clarkson on "Top Gear". Can't be many of these about so probably the same one as Top Gear's filmed just down the road at Duxford aerodrome.

Would you be brave enough to take a sheet of sandpaper to a Ferrari?

Grin Yup it sure does. At least it's now starting to look like a car rather than a pile of scrap  Grin

Looks pretty exciting to me - remember the days when you said you'd love to own a charger but it was never going to happen?

Yes Andy having owned the 2.4 and 3.8 i can say yes they were way ahead of the time for disc brakes all round.

I used to earn some extra cash by working a couple of hours a week as a workshop monkey & tea boy for a local guy who restored Jags. I got to drive a couple of mark 2s & very nearly wrote off the front of an XK120 when I couldn't find the brake pedal in time when being towed across the yard in it. Always fancied a mark 2.

"Remember the days when you said you'd love to own a Charger but it was never going to happen?"

Seems a long time ago now Bobbi. We were very naive when we bought the car & against everyone's advice, thought we could throw it back together quite cheaply. It's rapidly emptying our bank account & has reached the point where selling it would just about recoup what it's cost us. We know it's shaping up alright though cos John the workshop owner's gone from jokingly offering us 50 quid for the scrap metal to offering us the 6 grand we paid for it!
There's around a hundred Chargers in the country, (we followed a white one through Guildford the other evening!), & John's known nearly all of them at one time or another. They're all over 40 years old. He says Taz's may well be the most solid in the country. Not suprising as it's virtually a brand new car now!

Here's some photos of a '69 Charger, taken from the Mopar Muscle Association website.
Just how I intend to drive mine!
