Went to see the Charger the other day. Not much progress but everything is now nearly lined up on the rear end and the trunk lid now sits in the hole where it should. Photos not great as I could not get far back enough to fit the whole thing in

All the better to carry the LPG fuel tank.  Smiley
The trunk lid's a second hand one, courtesy of a forum member of the Mopar Muscle Association website, but it looks pretty straight doesn't it. I was working, so Taz did the workshop visit on her own this time. Can't wait to get the beastie home now -the Charger, not Taz.  Grin

As soon as it's put back together mate!
We're not being charged storage while it's there & being worked on, but might well be when it's done. We're trying to keep our payments up to date so we don't owe a big wad of cash when it's finished.
Taz recently picked up a brand new windscreen rubber from one of her Mopar mates for 30 quid. Next on our shopping list is a full set of steering/suspension bushes. Got to choose between rubber, which gives a soft, comfortable ride but wears quite quickly, or polyurethane, which lasts forever, but gives a harsher ride & is prone to squeeking till it beds in.
It's got to be on it's wheels when it leaves the shop or we won't be able to do anything with it back at our barn. Lots & lots of work still to do once we get it back.

Another trip to the workshops today. Santa's little Mopar elves have been busy since we last visited.
Taz's rear? Does her bum look big in this?  Grin

Since we last called, the old buckled roof panel has gone & the new, dented one has taken it's place.
If you've been paying attention you'll know we ordered the roof from the States & were assured it'd be very carefully packaged for the journey. The guys at Jack's Autos have been faultless up till now but it arrived in just a cardboard box, looking like it'd been sat on in transit by a particularly overweight heffalump. You can see some of the dents along the front edge on the driver's side -that's the left by the way. Not worth the hassle of sending it back. I was hoping the dents would just pop out, but will take a little more time than that. The front lip, above the screen, has a couple of creases in it that'll take a bit of work to rectify. Other than that, it fits pretty well.

Some very careful measuring by Andy & workshop owner John. Everything seems to line up nicely. Although you can't see it here, Andy the bodywork guy has completely rebuilt the lip under the front of the roof, (the bit the sun visors would attach to). As is normal practice, he built it a little oversize then trimmed it back till it fitted just right.

To be sure the roof pillars & the roof itself are correct, the guys need to fit a screen. We've got a new rubber & the promise of a good condition second hand screen from Mr Dave Two Lanes. Fortunately John had one in his spares stash. The rubber's a bugger to fit.

-the first one to point out the car's sunk lower on Taz's side will get a slap. Ouch!

Amazing how much difference the screen makes. Makes the whole front end look ..curvier, somehow.
