Well you've more than likely been following the thread from flc - "one for taz", (in General discussion) and know about this ebay item. After winning the item, we went today to look at it and check documents etc before handing over any money. Danny was the lad who had the Charger. Apparently his dad bought it for him to restore and it was in a lot of bits when he got it. He stripped it some more and did the back brakes on it and a few other bits and not much else. He lives literally in the middle of nowhere and he doesn't have people around to help him and give him the advice needed, so a year on he hasn't managed much and decided to sell it.
In all honesty there's far more work needed to get it running than the ebay advert let on and almost every panel needs work except the roof. The driver's door hinge pillar thingy has more rust and holes than a rusty swiss cheese. So a lesser price was discussed and agreed. The engine number and the vin all matched the log book. Now he's just got to try and dig out all the parts. Should be a couple of weeks before we can collect and pay the remaining money. The engine is literally in a million bits so will be fun figuring that out and although I would love Brock to come down and help me sort it out I fear things might go missing as it's the same engine as he has, (I think). Anyway, Andy took over 100 photos today so will only post a few at a time. We couldn't get to see all the parts as some are still in storage. Danny has said he will email me photos of anything I need and photos before he pulled the car apart so I can see what is there. Anyway here are some shots.

Well as Taz has already said, there's a lot more work here than we'd hoped, (a triumph of optimism over experience -should've known better), but it's still do-able. Lots of nooks & crannies bunged up with filler -badly -which will no doubt grow into huge holes once we start poking at them. A lot of the parts are squirrelled away in various sheds but we're pretty confident 99% of the car's there. Only seen one door so far, which has rust damage along the bottom edge. The lip around the edge of the bootlid's gone & the corners of the body where the bootlid shuts, next to the hinges, are full of filler. The vent panel along the bottom of the windscreen's a bit holey & the driver's floor area's been cut out but not repaired. The rear wing on the passenger side is a bit ripply -looks like someone's misjudged the width of the vehicle & sideswiped something, rather than a full on shunt) & the outer skin's come away around the wheel arch. Worst of all though is the A post on the driver's side, (the panel the door hinges bolt to). It's in pretty bad shape. If that panel's available as a repair section then the rest is all cosmetic -fiddly & time consuming but we should be able to piece it back together.
According to the numbers, it left the factory with a 318ci, (230 bhp), 2 barrel carb V8 motor, in a "premium" class 2 door sports hardtop, which has been upgraded at some point with the fitting of a 383ci unit, (330 bhp). The VIN number shows it's definitely a '69 Charger, assembled at the Dodge Main factory, Hamtramck, MI. USA.
The present engine has 906 big valve heads & a 4 barrel carb, stamped Carter AVS.
Any opinions chaps?

Yes as I said, much much more work than I thought, but it will be worth it in the end and we have some great friends at the end of a phone if help is needed. It will be kept in a garage at work so I can work on it in my breaks and after work and there is power and lighting. Just got to take tools with me as they are all in the shed at home. I think the first thing I'll be doing is attacking the car with a flap wheel to see exactly what is going on under the red oxide. Then I do one bit at a time. Like Manky said, the worst bit is the A pillar, the rest is bits and bobs here and there.
