hi everyone, the engine transplant has begun(even though I have'nt got another to put in!!!)
first of I managed to get a locking petrol cap to replace the one that did'nt.

yes I know it needs a wash!!

rad, shroud and airfilter removed.

ring gear is a little chewed, i've seen worse. I think maybe rear oil seal has gone as starter pinoin etc was coated nicely with oil!!!

will need to be keeping power steering pump, hope I can mount it up to the v6 with out many problems.

engine mounts look simple on drivers side, cannot see passenger side yet.

thats it for now but should progress during the week and end up with a big hole waiting for a v6.

cheers chris.

looking good mate, 1 thing you might need a fan shroud or an electric fan, as the fan is a long way from the radiator.

Yeah, 'leccy fans just drain batteries -as we've found a couple of times on the trikes when the fans have been left running.
I've been told an electric fan instead of a mechanical one saves 3 -5 bhp on a Reliant engine. Doesn't sound much until you realise they only have 40bhp to start with.

Yeah, mine'll be wired into the 'stat. Ska Man's is on all the time the ignition's on I think & Flap's is on a seperate switch. Not sure about Simon's. Once or twice while we've been messing about with the trikes they've been left running by mistake.
