thanks manky you lknow how to make people feel better.  Grin
ive change the headlight, unseized the offending calliper and got materials to make new baffel ( when i dont know ) that just leaves brake pads and to bleed the system again

to infinity and beyond  Huh

did someone say GREY .  Grin  . i cleaned the engine but all i used was paint stripper and a wee bit of autosal. baffels no made and working dont know if its quite enough yet but will book it back in on monday and hope the new pads turn up before then .
