Ahh, I remember the joys of Winter commuting on bikes.
Longjohns ahoy? Is that LongJohns Silver's catchphrase?

I needed a new winter jacket, one that would do for smart or casual, and I've just bought a ski jacket, it's fantastically warm as you'd expect, got all the pockets and gismos, and it only cost £50!  I'm well chuffed!
I might even wear it on the trike.

Yeah, I was seriously thinking of fitting them on my new trike -even in Summer my digits start getting cold quite quickly. My ex, Rainbow, put them on her Fazer. Worked fine as long as the engine was running to charge the battery but drained the power super quick if you tried switching them on to warm up before you started the bike, or forgot to switch them off as soon as you stopped.
I've long since given up on leather jackets & switched to Gortex type ones. Much warmer. Spent my teenage years shivering in leather jackets, waiting for Gortex to be invented!

Gonna treat myself to a proper quality flying jacket soon. Taz has got one that weighs a ton. I think there's about 3 sheep's worth in there. Like wearing a couple of duvets.

whilst browsing the history section of that site I note that Leslie Irvin was the inventor of the parachute rip-cord system and in 1919 was the first man to make a premeditated free fall from an areoplane, the inference being what ? someone prior to that took their mind off of what they were doing and stepped out for a fag, "Oh bugger, I was suposed to be flying that !"

I found the shop on the net where I bought my flying Jacket from - HIGGS.
Mine has been reduced and was over £250 when it was boght, now it's under £200. Fantastic shop and very small, but every inch is covered in clothing and the smell of leather is wonderfull. It's in Southend on Sea, so lots to look at other than the shop. Nice day out.
