Unfortunately not been able to say much about this, pending investigation/forensics etc.,  but my grandparents were robbed the other day.  We also found out, they had a real visit from the council only the week before, explaining there would be a representative in the area soon.   My mum and her brother were asked by Meridian news if they would like to be interviewed, they both said no.  Please PLEASE remind your elderly relatives/friends, not to open the door regardless.  Don't worry about the money that was taken, that can easily be replaced by us.  We're more concerned that others will be conned too, into letting criminals into their homes.  Of all the years my dads mum lived on her own, I was always worried this would happen to her, but for it to happen to my mums parents, this has shaken the family.  Believe it or not my grandad isn't normally easily fooled!

Sorry to hear that Janie.  All my elderly relatives have passed on now but it's one of the things I dread about getting old myself, losing my judgment over things like that.

Mike is only 68 but he got persuaded to change our electricity supplier by someone who came to the door, even tho we had discussed it and agreed not to do so.  He's usually on the ball as well, it only takes literally a moment of indecision.

You're absolutely right BG.  This is the first time my grandad has ever dropped his guard, bless him. And as he's 84 years old, I can't help thinking, what will happen next.  Apparently grandad was besides himself, and said he could kick himself all around Farnborough, my mum said he wasn't the only person that wanted to do that.

sorry to hear that this country as gone to the dogs. theres an old peoples complex by me and a women from there got robed this summer at 5am in the morning when it was daylight while she was asleep they took loads of stuff plus the kids go there picking on them so i have give them my number now and said if they ever need help to phone me asap day or night
