Hi there in mankymonkey world, heres a pics of my trike. It's an XJ900, I got it a couple of years ago and it looked nothing like it does now.  I totally stripped it down and rebuilt it to my taste with a little  Wink help from my buddies.

Hiya Kev  Wink
Another Midlander eh? Welcome anyway.
It's tradition here for me to nag all newbies to send us in a write up on their vehicle! Go on -show us whatcha got! A dozen nice clear piccies from various angles, (preferably somewhere more scenic than the local carpark), including one of you with it, plus a few words, or a lot of words if you feel like it, & we'll add it to the Motors section of the main site. The more variety of machinery we can display, the more we can help or inspire other newbies to give it a go & build something.
Nice tricycle by the way. Intruder front end?

Hi all, thanks for the interest, the piccie I posted was one that was taken part way through the rebuild.  It still had the 650 engine in at the time, now it has the 900 in, much better!  More pics and info will follow asap, oh and yeah MankyMonkey it is an Intruder front end.

Received this update from Kev today.
I'll edit these posts down & get Yoda to post them as a write up in the Motors section soon.
Nice to see you back Kev.  Wink

Hi there all in Manky World, I know it's been ages since I posted a few pics of my trike, so I thought it was about time I added a few details about it & a few more pics.  Well I bought it about 4 years ago when it had the Yam XJ650 engine in, it's a hard tail with a Suzuki Intruder front end, custom built frame and it looked a right wreck, even so, it was the shape & style of it & the sound of the engine that sold it to me.
As soon as I got home with it I had every intention of stripping it down & making it mine, but you know how it is you've just gotta get on the road & check it out... almost a year later the engine started to smoke & it had a problem with 2nd gear.
It was time to sort it out.

I got another XJ650 engine from a breaker in Scotland, stripped it all down, had the frame sandblasted & I restrenghtened it in places. Re-sprayed it in Dad's garage thinking it would be dry in 2 days(ha ha, middle of Feb!), it took 4. Dad wasn't happy that his car was on the street instead of in HIS garage. Due to the pitch of the tank and the position of the fuel tap I wasn't using all the fuel in the tank so I repositioned the tap lower down. Got rid of the arches & made my own. Bought the led lights off internet from www.litewave.co.uk reasonably priced & quite effective.

Tried to buy a new stainless steel exhaust, WOW pricey, but thanks to my mate Hornet6(Hi m8), a supply of stainless tube & a very big lunch bag lol, we made one from scratch. Tried it without silencers, ouch too loud, had to put some in. Made a new sissy bar & a small rack to carry camping gear, re-sprayed rest of it in brother in-law's shed(didn't wanna ask Dad again), had a new seat & back pad for sissy bar made by 'Dave the Seat' from Walsall Wood, West Midlands.

It's been back on the road about a year now. The 650 died in June last year, luckily the Mrs is as addicted to it as I am & she generously brought me the XJ900 that's in it now.

We get out & about on it whenever we can.
I use it daily..."Live to Ride, Ride to Work lol.
I'm now thinking of re-spraying it again. Just trying to come up with the cash to do it, I was thinking of the theme from the film 300 but I aint too sure yet...if any1 has any ideas you think might suit it I'm all ears.
Cheers Kev

I like that trike!

But then I do have a fondness for trikes that are short, narrow, and blue!

cheers m8 for the mention Grin Grin.just a quick note,on the pics, take a look at the original back wheels that the trike came with which was ok,but then look at the new wheels that adorne it now.Absolutley stunning deep chrome wide wheels, which i think suit the low mean style of the trike perfectly.job well done m8.
