A few suggestions off the top of my head for anyone out there who might feel the urge to put fingers to keyboard:
Any aspects of automobilia we're not covering? How about sports events? Superbike racing? Touring car racing? Speedway? Banger racing? Are you involved in any auto sport? Send in some pics. Write us an insider's view of an event.
Techy stuff. We've said from the start we ought to do some how-to articles. Everyone who works on their own machines will have a wealth of knowledge that they don't appreciate -normal garage procedures that you do week in, week out & assume everyone knows about. They don't. There's an army of newbies out there who haven't got a clue how to use basic garage tools. Anything from measuring, marking & cutting out a simple bracket, to building a chassis, drilling a hole & tapping a thread into it to advanced sheet metal work. If you know how to do it, why not impart that knowledge to the rest of us. None of us know so much we can't learn something new.
Mechanical fault finding. Any garage monkeys out there who can show us the most common problems on a bike or car? General maintenance to keep your machine on the road & safe. Or if it's too late for that, a selection of roadside bodges to get you home again.
What about annecdotes from the road? Your favourite journey? That trip with your mates from years ago that you still talk about. Memories of a favourite rally. Or a favourite bike or car -the one that broke down every time you went out on it, but still made you grin like an idiot.
Go to your favourite parts shop, have a chat with the guys who work there & send us a profile of their business. What services do they offer? Would you recommend them to the rest of us? Do they make a decent cup of coffee?!
Organisations. MAG, NSRA, BMF, NABD. If you're involved with one, why not tell us about it. Plug your association here for free!
Events. There's a million shows & rallies on all over the country & I tend to only list ones local to me. If you've got one you're looking forward to, bung the details in the Events list, then click the Link to Calendar button & add it to the Calendar -did you know we've got a calendar? The button for it's at the top of this page.
Vehicle write ups. Always looking for more of these. A lot of people promise they'll send something in then we never hear from them again. Doesn't have to be Shakespeare. If you or someone you know runs something you think would fit in here, take some snaps -give us a dozen to choose from, a couple of different angles, close ups of any unusual details & preferably one with the owner as well. Jot down some words, either just a basic spec list, detailing what parts were used & who did what, or as much as you want to write. Don't worry about grammar or punctuation, I can clean that up for you, just describe it as if you were talking to a mate who's not seen the vehicle before. Bikes, trikes, rods, classics, scooters, traction engines -anything & everything welcome.
Film reviews. I've added a couple on the main site. Auto films. If you've watched it & enjoyed it, tell us about it.
C'mon guys -get involved!
