T'was indeed a busy night at the Cafe. Some beautiful machinery about, nice crowd of rod fans, BBQ, band, burlesque stripper type lady etc, etc.
The Ace is starting to become a victim of it's own success -too small a venue in too busy an area. The road outside is a major through route for Royal Mail articulated lorries going to & from the local depot, plus buses, cars & half the rest of London's traffic. When the carpark fills up & the punters & vehicles overflow into the road it descends into chaos. Added to that are the stunt riding pillocks who seem to turn up at every event ever held there, from bike shows to vintage car nights, & proceed to pop wheelies, stoppies, burnouts & whatever, through the moving traffic.
That's my only gripe about the Ace. The Executioners' get-together was great. Beautiful cars, nice people -very easy to chat to, but as soon as the stunt twats arrive I want to get in the car & go home. A good night out though.
No piccies from me as it was just too dark for my little digi camera to cope. Hopefully Rick fared better.
