For those that haven't been keeping up -or can't be arsed to read the whole thread, Taz's trike was originally going to have a steel tractor seat. We thought that a tractor themed trike would be kind of appropriate, given Taz's job as stable manager on a country estate.
In the end we dropped the seat idea as it didn't fit the frame shape, but we're still going with the tractor theme.
I actually like vintage trac'ors, my favourite being the classic Massey Ferguson TE20 -"the Little Grey". So the frame, tank, guards, forks, wheels & those bloomin' huge girder forks will all be powder-coated in Massey Ferguson gloss grey. We'll detail the engine in gloss black. The brake pipes will be run on the outside of the frame rails, rather than hidden inside like mine, & will be in polished copper for a more vintage look.
If you're interested, the front wheel's actually the rear wheel from a Yamaha V Max with a Harley domed cover hiding the shaft drive unit. The rear wheels are old Morris Minor ones, donated by Brock & "banded" -an old hotrodding trick to widen them to take 265/50/15 tyres.
The forks are extra wide girders, made specially for us by forum member FLC. The tank's a "King Sportster", (an aftermarket, widened version of the standard Harley Sportster item). The seat's also an aftermarket Sportster accessory made by Corbin. Front light's an old Suzuki one & the rears will be large trailer jobbies.
I plan to have "TE 20" written in black on each side of the tank -it'll confuse the hell out of everyone -except tractor fans, who'll hopefully see the connection.
