Wheels dropped off & colour chosen. We took Taz's wheels to ProCoat in Newbury, Berks this afternoon. The proprieter is a Mr Aston Martin -yes, honestly. You couldn't hope to find a more helpful or enthusiastic guy. Shotblasting & powder-coating will be 30 quid per wheel. Oh & for those that like to know these things, the colour's number 7045, a gloss grey, slightly darker than primer grey.
We also stopped in at the local tyre depot. The biggest inner tube they stock is a 200/60/14 -too tall & too narrow. Their considered opinion though, was that tubeless would be safer. If a tubed tyre gets punctured it goes flat instantly, without warning. A tubeless goes down slowly, giving you time to wobble to safety. So tubeless it is.
Last stop was A & C Shotblasting, also in Newbury. We use them for all the smaller, plain colour parts. The finish is a little more industrial but it's cheap & quick. A 2 foot square box of assorted trike parts, both Taz's & mine, shotblasted & coated in gloss black, 20 quid. Bargain. Check the Links for Commercial Purposes section of the forum for phone numbers & tell 'em we sent you.
