Don't know who's been smiting or smitten -not me, honest.
Yup. Had a quick consultation with Taz today -then we looked at the trike. That top tube's way too long. Needs to be shortened by a good 4 inches at least. A long time since we built Flap's, but I vaguely remember having a similar problem & cutting the top tube, shortening it to suit, then slugging it & welding it back together. Probably easier just to cut it off & start again though & try to incorporate a little slope in it. The current one's exactly horizontal.
FatBobs, slung level with the top tube would be good, but would require the underside being cut away to clear the engine. I really don't want to have to cut up the shiny new QuickBob tank if I can avoid it. Anyone got a very cheap set of FatBobs for sale?
I'll start chopping off the iffy bits tomorrow.

We've been out in the shed looking at my frame and decided that the 2 tanks we have arn't right for it so will possibly go for a King sportster tank instead as it is short but wide. Think I will have to have a browse on Dracken's site and see what's there. We are also hoping to go to the Popham autojumble on Sunday so we might see something there to suit. Manky is at present removing the top tube and various other ones to shorten and angle the top tube slightly at the back and hopefully in doing so will sit me slightly more forward.

You never know what might turn up at the swapmeet. Might find an old brit tank that suits it?
You could print out a life size photo of your trike, then we could try the tanks at the autojumble on it to see how it will look! Or shall I shut up now!! Grin

We had a look on Drackens site and I quite like the look of the Mustang tank rather than the tall Sportster. The Mustang is as wide as the forks but slightly more slimlined than the Quickbob.

As you said Marcus we might find a nice Brit one, (Manky thought the same), but as far as the full sized photo, well I shan't tell you on a public forum what you can do with that idea  Grin

If you got a life size cardboard cutout of yourself, in a sitting pose, and held it against the lifesize pic of the frame------no, perhaps not. Roll Eyes

Diet Coke & cake works for me. I reckon the Diet stuff cancels out the cake calories -doesn't it?
