Is there different sizes of nuts used on the end of reliant driveshafts?I got a pair of new ones recently, and when I went to fit them they wouldnt go on fully.at a quick glance the driveshaft seems to be a finer thread, are some metric and others imperial ?

hi was just looking at mankys trike build and apparently there was a coment made about the bearings being metric and imperial so maybe your nuts are wrong as you assumed just an idea

Erm, actually I don't know either. We've always assumed they were all the same size -until Simon's didn't fit. I'll ring Michaels of Selby, the Yorkshire Reliant dealer I get my spares from, & get back to you.

Sorry, I'd forgotten about this one. I rang Michaels of Selby & asked when you first posted. They're always very helpful but whoever I spoke to wasn't sure. He thought they all used the same size, but I'm still not sure.

I finally got the correct nuts 5/8 UNF , they were still a bit tight but I think the ends of the driveshafts have had a knock sometime in their life and were a bit mushroomed, however I made a paste with cutting oil and fine grinding paste and they are now running freely.
