Hmm, is GPZ/Norton some new hybrid I haven't heard of? Or the name of your home town? There's a village called Norton near Andover -& a road called Norton Ride here in Basingstoke.

this Norton is very much in north yorks, i must say since seeing flaps trike in bsh i am really into building one myself only problem is i cant weld but that will not deter me , may take some time
but we will get there in the   end , i must say your trike is spot on mr Manky  any way got to go now

I bought a MIG welder years ago & just played about with it till I thought I'd got it right, (bought it to repair/customise an old Moggy Minor), but when we started on Mr Flap's trike we both enrolled at the local tech college for evening classes in welding. I had got it right, but it was reassuring to know I had. About 60 quid for 14 lessons I think. I'd recommend it. Not only will it give you confidence but the instructors are usually enthusiasts & would jump at the chance to teach you by actually building something -a frame for instance.  Wink

hi mr manky i have a mig and must try to get some practice in i have looked for welding classes but we are out in the sticks here but i am gathering bits for the build i have got 900 gpz front end
triumph thunderbird tank , got some tube ot start of with just need to try and find a motor and box
to set it up around no dought i will be pestering for all sorts of answers when i get a start  is there any easy way to cot the 2" tube down the centre for axle clamps had a practise but the two halfs were not equal wondered if there was some easy solution

I'm sure there is, like using a band saw or something, but ours were just done with a hacksaw. Simple & basic -like us.
