We came away from the Ace last night even more fired up to build a rod, and after spending tonight looking at loads of pictures came back to the Ruffrodders site. And we've decided to build something quite similar to this '29 Ford, but with wider wheels at the back and using a Rover V6 lump (lighter than a V8 and more than quick enough for what we want) without the bonnet cover this rod has. Fortunately among the many vehicles the FYM and I own happens to be a Jago jeep which is already registered as a kit car, so shouldn't need to get too bogged down in SVA. Oh, and it'll be satin black - of course...

well i am back from a blast out in the kitcar, absolutly gave it loads of beans, and the twin fan setup certainly cools it down sufficiently
Brilliant, i feel all hyper now

I'd still love a rod too, but with my trike STILL only half rebuilt & maybe a ratty XS11 on it's way to my garage at the end of the week, I haven't got the time, money or facilities at the moment. This is one of my recent favourites, at the Nostalgia Drags at Avon Park a few months ago.

I'll be dropping by Valley Gas Speed Shop in Newbury at the end of the week to take another look at that ratty XS so will take the camera along & see what I can snap for you.

Looks like the Rover V6 plan might be being reappraised ... seeing as I've just been given a 403ci Oldsmobile V8...  Grin Grin Grin
