Ooh, thank you! I recognise some of those from my days in the owners' club. Used to do the National rally at Knebworth each year, plus loads of local shows & rallies.

MM for Moggy Minor or Manky Monkey? I'm the same with Ford Anglias. My Mum's was RPC456E. She owned it when I was about 7 but the number's stuck in my head ever since for some reason.

Can't remember the number of my Anglia - better dig ouyt some old phots and see if I can make the scanner work.
My brother has an Austin 7 Special (no, I don't have any phots, and not likely to) which has the coolest reg of all - OC67

More like OC for Oh Crikey!
I remember him rebuilding it when I was a teenager - scraping shell bearings for... would that be for the crankshaft? And other amazing tasks. It has an Austin racing engine apparently and is a bit awkward to drive on the road because of the gearing. I may have an old b&w phot somewhere..

I've got myself really interested now! I may have to call in to see Peter when I'm on my travels this summer - but actually it's not easy cos he's a bit anti-social! Has been known to just not open the door if he doesn't want to see you!

My Dads brother had a Ford Consul mk1, TUB 886, that's the only reg i've ever been able to remember. Probably 'cos as a little kid I spent ages sat on our gate on a Sunday waiting for him to bring Nan & Gramps for a visit.
