Yahoooooo!! The steel arrived today for the leading links that I'm going to make.
Also got some VMAX shocks too. I got some 38mm with 4mm wall cds, hope that will be strong enough, it looks pretty strong to me Grin
Thanks for the help reliantman, had a look on BTW gallery and found a lot of inspiration there. They may take a little while to make but will post some pics for everyones derision Grin Grin when they are done. I can then fit the wheel, rear drum brake variety, and a quad front brake lock, mechanical handbrake so should comply with msva ,if i'm wrong i'm sure one of you peep's will advise me.
I've borrowed a pic from BTW showing how the forks will look..HOPEFULLY, but will put the shocks at the bottom.

Where did that 13mm spanner go then?

Got the cds, machined the inserts for the ends, 150mm long and sweated them in, drilled and welded eight spots on each leg and smoothed them out with the angle grinder. I'm making the links at work out of 30mm x 10mm cdms. That should do the job, so its all go here, well as much GO as it gets Grin
Will put on some pics soon.

Pictures is what we need and keep going, it all takes time. Sounds like your further on than I am, I'm still machining the wheel.

Hi Doc, I may be further on but I'm not making a wheel, I'm going to cheat and use a ready made one Grin  I don't have the know how to machine my own, but we all  do what we can do Grin
From the pic's i've seen of your wheel itys going to be very nice when its done, keep at it.

I have now milled a flat face on the ends of the fork legs, the milling cutter was'nt that good and it left 'orrible graungh marks on the faces, still, 20 minutes draw filing and then finishing with emery cloth has really done the job. Have'nt done any draw filing for years, forgot how satisfying it really is Grin Grin
Just have to finish the leading links now, then fit the shocks and put them on so that I can machine up some spacers to get the wheel central. I would prefer twin leading shoe on the front but will have to make do with the single leading shoe rear wheel that i've got. Oh well can't have everything I suppose. I'm sure that the rear brakes on the reliant axle will be quite enough to stop me Grin Grin If I'm wrong i would be greatful if someone would tell me. Grin Grin

I don't have any problem stopping with the Reliant drum brakes.

Hardly ever use the front one anyway.
