Teetering on the edge of insanity

« on: July 10, 2022, 02:05:43 PM »

Well finally after 22 years I'm in need of a back axle seems they have gone up in price since I last bought one (attached to a car).

Any Monkeys out there with a spare? Not too bothered about ratio as I will continue to use my Diff as its only the tubes that have finally rusted out.

If your diff is OK then may be better to get new tubes made.

Hi twisted
Some time ago now i bought two lengths of steel tube from a steel company on ebay and had a local engineer turn the ends down to fit the diff. I had the hub carrier ends cut off the old tubes and reamed out for the new tubes to fit inside and then welded up. all turned out well. the tubes ended up being thicker than the original ones.
Hope this give you some ideas.
