The Brighton and Hove Motor Club have requested Saturday 4th September for the 2021 Speed Trials, and as such, at time of posting (October 2020) and looking at the B&HMC website, this date is yet to be confirmed.

Brighton Speed Trials 2021.

Well, to the best of my knowledge, it appears the event should be going ahead, which is good news.

Keep an eye on the B&HMC website / facebook for details closer to the event with regard to details including ticket info, big screen info etc. As in previous years, the main sponsor is Frosts.
See
http://www.brightonandhovemotorclub.co.uk/

This is considered to be the World's longest running motorsport event, having first run in 1905 (a tad before the great Shelsley Walsh hillclimb)

The Brighton and Hove Motor Club run the event and kindly invite the VMCC Sprint Section to organise and run the motorcycles, which means spectators get to see both cars and bikes at the same standing start 1/4 mile event.

Fingers crossed!

Yep, more info.

As of Friday 13th (to best of my knowledge, the later part of the day), the 2021 Brighton Speed Trials is on for the car side of things, however, the motorcycle side of things requires the OK from the ACU, and it appears that due to 'office hours', the earliest they can be contacted will be Monday 16th...………..

Wednesday 18 August.

The news is the  2021 Speed Trials will be running, however  it will be doing so without the motorcycles due to safety concerns following an ACU track inspection, the findings of which prevented them from issuing a Track Certificate or Permit this year.

Further details can be found here on the VMCC Sprint Section facebook page.  https://www.facebook.com/vmccsprint/

So, on Sat 4th September, Maderia Drive will see another running of this historic event, run by the Brighton and Hove Motor Club.
Here's wishing them a successful event.

Brighton's local press has picked up that the motorcycles aren't running at this year's Brighton Speed Trials.

Well done to the Brighton and Hove Motor Club for staging the event at such notice!

Thanks to all the behind the scenes folk and the marshalls too, motor sport events wouldn't happen without these people.

Austin Seven Special - note the supercharger and its long tract from the carb.

Me thinks the blower is a Japanese Aisin (maybe 10 or 20 years of age).
