Right, I need a decent heater for my lock-up garage this Winter.
I've been using a couple of little camping heaters that run on Butane cylinders. They're about the size of an aerosol can & I'm getting through loads of them, at 12 quid for 8.
Somewhat pointlessly, Butane doesn't work when it gets cold, so the heaters constantly stop working & I have to shake the cannisters to get them going again or swap them for a warmer one.
There must be a better way. There's no electricity supply in my lock-up & as it's just a rented garage I can't go installing flues for wood burners etc! (haven't got the room for one anyway).
I don't want a generator running to supply electricity to an electric heater, (unless anyone knows of a battery powered one?), so I guess gas is the only answer.
Any recommendations? Calor Gas?
The local Morrisons supermarket petrol station stocks those gas bottles with the 2 green plastic handles on the top, which I assume are for home patio heaters, but I've no idea how much they cost or how you set up an account.
Any ideas?

Before I had my WOODBURNER..(which was smaller than my gas heater) I used a calor gas heater..13k blue bottle..costs about £42 each 😱 but used on just 1 bar can last for ages?  The WOODBURNER was much hotter but needed constant vigilance

These are Butane again though aren't they. No problems with them not working in cold weather like I'm getting with the small cannisters?
Not sure I've got the room for one, but as the garage is insulated, I suppose once it's warm I could switch the heater off & push it to one end of the garage while I work at the other. Where do you get the gas bottles from?

Andy if you haven't already got the bottles there is some on f/b market place cheaper to buy an empty one and exchange if for a full one
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2342114022578456/
you need to check the size / weight  of these first

Same as an overnight heater in a truck cab , uses diesel or paraffin,, kerosene , and a small 12 volt supply ,
Burns the fuel inside a burner chamber and supplies you with warm/ hot clean blown air ,
No damp condensation like you get with gas heaters

Andy, you can use propane in most butane appliances and it doesn't suffer with the cold like butane. I spent many winters using propane in caravans and motorhomes and it is good to very low temperatures.
