There appears to be a ‘new’ type of car drag racing in the UK called “No Prep”.

From what I can tell, events are run at venues that were/are old airfields, some of which are used for motorcycle sprinting by the NSA  https://www.facebook.com/sprinting.co.uk

There's also date where they're running on a section of the old Silverstone circuit, and another where they're running at the Pistons & Props at Sywell  http://www.mankymonkeymotors.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=17051.0
One venue in particular, Church Fenton, was used during the Dragfests of 1964/65.

The surfaces are pretty much as-is (so not prepped like the Pod), and many venues have noise restrictions (unlike Santa Pod).

It also seems that the distance is an 1/8th mile on certain occasions.

Nah, you're going back a bit, it went to a new owner back in 2013.

I was going to say I last saw it when I drove my Pop to a hotrod meet at Blackbushe, but you're right -that would've been 2013 Smiley
