I can't stop building stuff ?,but I'm slowing down

« on: October 30, 2018, 08:05:39 AM »

Some of you may remember I was given this trailer by STIX ? ( lucky ME Grin)..
Well after going over it I decided to make a start ..my plan is to make it able to carry my trike and also double up as a mobile workshop with a pullout kitchen and drop down beds ? And for as little outlay as possible? Roll Eyes but we all say that ?
So far I've been given some metal and 3 scaffold boards ( for ramps ) and I've reused wood and metal from the original build..

Having to reload everything  Angry poor internet connection ) I'm just Winging it (that's the name of the trailer company that built it  Grin) and it's most likely going to look like a horse box type?

Great project. Watch out for the weight as it's easy to end up with it too heavy for the axle.

Well I have kept my Mercedes estate aside ready for the time (c220 ) which has a tow bar fitted Smiley
This has 1 ton axles and was used for carrying a big ( portable ) heavy steam engine permanently fixed in the back..so I'm sure I will be ok? The trike is very light..and I intend on using thin wall ply for the walls/roof ( unless I stumble upon a stash of ally sheets ? Undecided)..and the axles bolt on so easily replaced Mr Olds  Wink
But time will tell? TBH it's just something to do that's not costing me much money Grin and keeps me happy

Welded (tacked) a top brace, grinded off the old welded brackets off the uprights,it looks higher than it actually is Grin but I do need to walk Inside and it's just the correct height for me

Not going for the 'Airstream' look then. Cheesy
Doing a bit each day, even if it's not a lot, is a good idea and more than a lot of folk ever will get around to do. Keep at it mate.

Well I'm making it up as I go to be honest Mr O, Grin definitely not aiming for airstream or teardrop style..mrs stinkey wants a workspace/ craft shop so she can travel around Spain/Portugal / France selling her jewellery and I wanted to be able to carry the trike or the chop too Cheesy so it's being designed (haha ) around those parameters ?
