I'm fascinated by this kind of stuff. Amazing how quickly technology is progressing.
Having already produced a 1" long flying 'bot, this team have just roped 6 micro bugs together & towed a full sized car with them.

Cheers Andy. I love reading/seeing articles about things like this. Like you say, unbelievable how research is leading to some great innovations.

I was reading about the Curiosity rover on Mars again the other day. It is remarkable what it can do and as it's nuclear powered it doesn't worry about the infamous sand storms covering solar panels unlike the Opportunity rover who NASA thinks is asleep at the moment because of the sand.

The current sandstorm is the biggest and longest (timewise) that has ever been recorded. They are still hoping if the sand gets blown away that Opportunity will reawaken. In the meantime Curiosity's onboard weather station is recording great data about Mar's sandstorms. Brilliant when you think it is all happening from at a minimum, just under 34 million miles, when the two planets are as close as they can be in orbit.

And yet they can't get the weather forecast right here! Smiley
Yes, it's the distances involved that make it so amazing.
