Teetering on the edge of insanity

« on: August 23, 2018, 01:41:23 PM »

The sixth year of this charity ride and the only one I do now.

This year is a little bit closer to home for me as I was diagnosed with depression mainly caused by work and also lost a friend to cancer.

Still I'm on the mend and looking forward to this years ride, I promise I will take more photos or at least steal someone else's.

The Exeter ride. I have a mate who's doing the Southampton one too.
Good luck! Smiley

Will ask my brother he's doing the London ride. You should be able to get the details from the website.

A bit of extra news is that I'm not doing the Exeter ride as I'm hosting the Taunton ride as soon as I figure out how to use the admin website.

That would be great if you could , there's no info about venues on the website and you can't get it unless you register and seeing as I don't ride anymore I can't register. Seems to be a bit of a closed shop now I  photographed one of the early one when it started in the City and then again at the Olympic Part but can't get any info this year. So would really appreciate it if you could Twisted . Good luck with your ride

Change of plan I'm more than likely going to be in Barnstable Devon if you know anyone doing that ride

I took photos of the Poole/Bournemouth run - apparently it was the second biggest in the country with 600 bikes - pictures here of some of them (it's a public album, you don't need to be on Facebook to see it).

I hosted the Taunton Ride but we only had 16 register and 8 turn up, still we did our bit for the charity.

If you do it again next year, I expect more will come.   As you can see, I decided that you were right about the distance!

That's a shame when you make the effort but like you say, it still all added to the coffers to help men's health, by fighting prostate cancer and trying to reduce the high number of men committing suicide. Well done Doc. It's also great to see the turnout around the world:

https://www.gentlemansride.com/rides

especially in places you would perhaps never even think of being involved like Madagascar or Christmas Island. Over £4.5 million raised so far. Brilliant.  Cool

On another note, I notice it is Mr_G's birthday today. If you still keep in touch, wish him Happy Birthday and say he ought to pop in to MMM and say hello.  Smiley
