Teetering on the edge of insanity

« on: August 02, 2018, 05:41:24 AM »

Had to tax the trike last month after losing my disabled entitlement.
No big deal altho I was a little shocked at the price.

Recieved a letter from the DVLA yesterday stating that as it was first registered in 1978 it was now under the historic class of tax

I thought this did not apply to modify vehicles.

Not complaining just curious.

This may help/confuse..............  Wink

In short - The free road tax is date related with a couple of caveats. If the vehicle is ‘substantially changed’, this takes away the MoT exemption.

Will know when I get the bank statement
Checked online and it's taxed for 12 months instead of the 6 that I had applied for.

DVLA usually send an email when you renew - no email suggests no payment?

I had a letter from them Bobbi telling me I had tried to tax it for 6 months as a trike and that I now have to tax it as a historical vehicle, only payed £40 I think so not that bothered.

Just curious as to why they did that, no complaints from this end tho'.

One more year til her 20th Birthday and 20 years on the road.

Aiming to keep her going until I cannot ride any more, she still pulls like a train and can now go faster than I can handle.

Not sure whats going to happen to her when I'm not able to ride, we'll just have to wait and see I suppose.
