Saw one of those enclosed, 2 seater "Orca" jet ski thingies last weekend. It was charging up & down London Docklands. Every now & then it'd dive below the surface & run for about 50 yards with just it's snorkel showing above the water, before leaping up in the air.
Very impressive -& undoubtedly very expensive -but I wonder how many times you'd use it before the novelty wore off?

Ooh, never heard of one of those. I don't think I'd get fed up of one. Sounds great fun. Plus unlike a jet ski I couldn't fall off. If that happened on a jet ski I would never be able to get back on again and that's what puts me off having a go on one.

Really does look like an Orca. Well timed photo.  Cool

Apparently they're made by a company called Sea Breacher & the latest model has Shark styling & a supercharged 260 horse power engine.

Must be an expensive hobby as they don't mention the price. Looking elsewhere I found a price of about $80,000 to $100,000 or £60,000 to £75,000. Bit more saving I think.  Cheesy

Not quite diving but lots of fun all the same. At a higher price (about £41,000 more) than the Shark's top one but at least no trailer is needed. The writing below this video on YouTube is just as interesting as the video. The engine is a Honda V6 V-tec.  Cool
