Is this just a local thing in Basingstoke or is it a national phenomena?
The latest school craze is finally something creative & harmless -which tends to make me think it's been promoted by teachers, rather than dreamt up by the kids. At least it brightens up the place & doesn't do any damage.
Choose a stone, paint it, then leave it in a random spot for someone else to find. Not sure what happens after that -do they move them to another spot? Or take them home & see who can amass the biggest rock group? Maybe you replace it with one of your own?
I've been spotting them around the town for the last couple of weeks.

Creative. Imaginative. Artistic. Gets kids outdoors, away from computer screens, exploring the World around them, connecting with other kids in a shared pastime that's sociable, non violent, non destructive, doesn't involve, drink, drugs or any other dangerous substances, (have you seen the American kids daring each other to chew washing powder capsules?!) ...etc, etc, etc. Can't see a down side to it personally -I'm pretty sure it won't lead to a World shortage of pebbles, but I could be wrong. |
