The NASC, (National Association of Street Cars), has announced today that they're dissolving the club, due to lack of support & poor finances resulting from that. They've been part of the hotrod scene for over 40 years & were responsible for some great shows, in years gone by, as well as providing a voice for the hotrodder in the street whenever new legislation was threatened. The NHRA, (National Hot Rod Association), is still going strong, (as far as I know), but it seems there just isn't enough call for 2 or more big umbrella organisations in the hobby now. I guess the internet has rendered a lot of club meetings & information gathering unnecessary & although there seem to be more shows than ever at the moment, they're becoming more specialist & niche -not everybody wants to go to, or is welcome at, the same events. So maybe it'd just had it's time, things move on & change & the modified vehicle scene isn't the same as it was when the club started -but with all the legislation in the pipeline at the moment, we need all the unity & numbers we can get. Farewell NASC & thanks for everything.
