5,000 days -that's Martian days or "Sols", which are 40 minutes longer than Earth days. Getting on for 14 years, trundling around, all by itself on the Red Planet. It's covered something like 45 miles in that time, which might not sound a lot, but it's being driven by someone 140 million miles away. It's taken & sent back over 225,000 photos.
And it's still going, despite only being intended to "live" for 90 days.
Wonder if the warranty's expired yet?

Proof that electric vehicles can be reliable? Well, I'd be happy if I bought a new car & it lasted me 14 years -but then, I'd want to do more than 45 miles in it in that time.

Fantastic technology; not only in designing and building the Rover and getting it to Mars but then being able to communicate with it and receive photos. It's astounding what can be achieved.

There are some brilliant brains in our world. Some great visionaries.  Cool

All this Flat Earth stuff on social media at the moment -they're not really serious are they?
Are there genuinely that many uninformed nutters about, or is it some huge in-joke that I'm not in on? Is it just funny or cool or whatever to rant at strangers about the Earth being a flat disc? If not, I really do despair for the younger generations.

Everybody knows that the Earth is flat Tsh. And that a Rover built by Mars would melt on a sunny day.
