The Ferguson-Climax P99 – the only 4 wheel drive Formula One car to win a race.

Mr Ferguson was the gent who made the 4 wheel drive part for the Jenson Interceptor FF (FF standing for Ferguson Formula)

A 1964 McLaren-Chevrolet M1A undergoing some heavy maintenance as the gearbox and bell-housing required changing following damage.

One of the team was sent up to the midlands, arriving around 2am to collect replacements, getting back to Goodwood around 7am, to allow one of the mechanics to replace and re-assemble the car.

He got it done and it was racing later on!  Cool

Yep, its a steam locomotive at The Goodwood Revival!

2018 featured a British Transport Parade.
To quite the official programme.
“British Transport was truley revolutionised 70 years ago with the establishment of  the national rail network and the launch of the FX3 black cab”

It’s PEG 1 – as featured in Carry On Cabby.

The owner told me he bought it from a museum and did a total restoration.

The motorcyclists coming out for their first of two races “The Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy”.

Barry was a visitor and competitor at the Goodwood Revival in the years leading up to his death, and bike races are now named in his honour.

In the photo, Troy Corser is in on #11 and John McGuinness #1.

The bike race starts with a Le-Man style sprint with the riders running across the track to their bikes (engines running and being held by one of the team).

John had dispensation from the running due recent injury, and can (just) be seen standing next to his bike, waiting for a deputy to do his running for him.

The Revival is primarily a race meeting, and the folk who campaign their cars and bikes do so with proper gusto.

Sometimes its goes a tad wrong, as can be seen by the damage on this poor chap’s 1964 Iso Biizzarrini A3/C after he slid it into the tyre wall during practice or the RAC TT Celebration race.

Fortunately there are folk out with the talent to repair these old cars/bikes, and folk with the bank balance to allow it to happen.

One race, the Kinrara Trophy, was said to have a grid value of around £2,000,000! £200,000,000 (thanks Phunkie for pointing out my typo  Wink)

The St Mary’s Trophy race part 1 for production saloons of the type first raced between 1960 and 1966.
These are at full chat four-wheel drifting.

One of the characteristics of the Cortina when pushed hard was the inside front wheel would lift, the  white Cortina has around an inch of air under its front wheel.
