Wow! Where would you even start?!
What a beautiful looking engine. I love traction engines. Don't know anything about them, but just love being around them. I'm fascinated by the way such huge gears &  rods move with such delicate precision.

I agree!  And the fact that you can SEE all those moving parts, and they are all gleaming and covered in oil, and the whole thing smells amazing too!

To think a hundred or so years ago,this would have been an ordinary job for hundreds of men up and down the country. Men with skills we are fast losing.

Wow. Interesting links. A major job.

That's one of the reasons I enjoy the Dorset Steam Fair, being surrounded by such fantastic engineering. The owners take great pride in them and they always look tip top.

The Kempton Steam Museum has some events happening for 2018-02-16, as well as the Triple being in steam.
