Take it from an ex-sports injuries coach, who has recovered from knee problems last year bought on by 24 years in the military, rest, ice (not directly on the skin, but wrapped in a towel), and elevating it as much as possible will help, but definitely one of these sort of supports when you are moving, will help.............. a lot!!!

Someone at work recommended that type too Clive, so I think I'll order one.
I tried an elasticated tube bandage, but it made it more painful! (too tight I think & bunched up behind the knee as I walked). It didn't help that on the day I had to go home from work, I was working with a lad 30 years younger than me, who literally runs around the delivery. I had no chance of keeping up,  but even with my regular partner, we move at a brisk walking pace for 4 hours non stop.
The nurse at the surgery said joints should be supported from the next joint above & below, which would mean being bandaged from hip to ankle!

Liked the Rod pic. Think you are going to be disappointed there Andy, but don't despair, I'll pop around and you can share my crutches.  Cheesy

It's not that we don't care about your discomfort Andy but on the otherhand we are enjoying having a laugh at your expense.  Grin
