Merica. Made an ace cafe - bigger, louder, brasher etc

You can get unlimited fish and chips though.....

No photo. An American Ace Cafe? Why does that make me cringe.

Smiley I spoke to people in New York a couple of months ago who genuinely thought all Brits either spoke Cockney rhyming slang or with comedy upper class accents. I can just imagine what a Disneyfied version of a British biker cafe would be like.
Mind you, there are loads of traditional 50s style "Greasers" in Japan. Some countries adopt others' cultures well -others don't.

My accent is middling Brummie/Wolverhampton but I had no problems being understood when I lived in the US in my younger days. It's funny but out of all my family I'm the only one with an accent. I can't hear it myself but I was at my Mum's the other day and she played a message from me on her answering phone and I sounded really broad. Mind you, don't most people dislike hearing their taped voice?  Shocked

Maybe she mistook your flapping arms for hitler salutes when you overfilled your vehicle and fuel went all over the forecourt. I hope you assured her otherwise.  Smiley

P.S. I'm in no way implying that the current German populace goes around doing that. Well, not most of them anyway. Undecided
