On wednesday I did something I haven't done in many a year. A bracing trip on Tidal waters.

Eureka! Thats the first time I have ever sucessfully post pictures on this site. I'll try a few more. As I was picking up my son from London City Airport I got there a bit early, so I found what must be the only bit of free parking in the capital right next to the ferry. Mrs Baychimp and myself then went for a walk along the Thames. Right by the ferry is the old Woolwich foot tunnel so we popped down for a quick look.

Then the Tunnel stretches away under the river.

Didn't know a tunnel like that existed.

See you learn something new everyday JJ. So just to increase your knowledge  base there is a similar one at Greenwich.

I didn't know it was there either.
My Dad was London born too, (Battersea), & used to take us on day trips around the city when we were kids. He'd worked all over London as a surveyor for the council & knew all sorts of interesting places like this. He could tell us a little bit of history about almost every street. Wish I'd paid more attention.
