Doesn't get any more exotic than the Autumn sun slowly setting over the Basingstoke canal.
Taken yesterday evening from the girder bridge behind Farnborough airport.

It's an hours walk back to the car from there. Pitch black by the time I got back. I nearly fell in the canal!

Lovely pics Andy. Both are nicely framed.

I might be joining a photography class in September so I might actually learn to properly use my nice digital slr. My hand always shakes but at least my pics should be slightly better than the current just point, click and hope for the best. Undecided

Smiley I carried a big Nikon camera with me everywhere for years, but recently realised my phone takes just as good photos, so now that's all I use. So much more convenient, though I do have to take an extra, plug-in battery pack cos taking photos uses up the battery life really quickly. My trip to New York a couple of months ago was all recorded for posterity on my phone.

I have the hand hsking problem, but if I'm taking landscape photos I have a nice lightweight tripod I take with me.

Spent the evening watching Kingfishers catching their supper as the sun went down -then very nearly fell in the canal several times during the hour long walk back to my car along the towpath, lit only by the Moon.

Are you making a habit of this? Are you trying to fall in? Is it a cry for help that we aren't picking up on? If it is you must tell us because we are not that quick on the uptake on MMM - engines yes, emotions no.  Embarrassed  Huh

If you are okay, well then you'll be getting a reputation skulking around that tow path at night!  Shocked  Cheesy

Great photos though. Erm,  camera in the dark. Yes definitely skulking!  Grin

I'm fine thanks Jay -but thanks for your concern Smiley
I'm a single man again -have I mentioned that? Too far apart & lots of drama with one of her grown up sons being in & out of hospital, which meant we never got to see each other. Worked O.K online, but when we managed to meet up there just wasn't enough of a spark there.
So I've got the time to go walking in the evenings again, which I really enjoy, & the canal towpath's just a convenient spot, away from traffic & most people -apart from endless mountain bikers trying to mow me down -where I can walk a few miles in relative peace & quiet. I like it there Smiley

Virginia Water -part of Windsor Great Park.
