Far too sunny for working in the garage this afternoon, so when I finished work I jumped in the car & headed for the coast. I was aiming for Southsea, but the traffic heading that way was really heavy, so I ended up in Lee on Solent.

Used to ride there with a bunch of mates when I was younger, just to sit on the beach with a beer. Haven't been there for decades. Nice old fashioned seaside town.

Bizarrely, I bumped into an old girlfriend, Sara, walking her dogs along the beach. Haven't seen her for about 10 years. I had no idea she lived there. She used to be a forum member -Rainbow -& I started building her a GS850 trike while we were together. She's riding a big trail bike now.

I remember watching the Isle of Wight hovercraft service. Huge things. They left their hangars, crossed the main road, then down a causeway onto the sea. Never travelled on one, but they were quite a sight to see in action.

Cheesy No wonder Southsea/Portsmouth was so busy -the Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier was passing through.

It's a nice place. My Mum and Sister only live down the road so go there for the fish and chips from the Portuguese shop (very nice) or for an ice-cream. Often busy though.

Darn it that post should have had a copy of the seagull pic - the blue sky/white birds one.
