Hi Guys, been a long time out but the trike and me lost interest as I still can't sort out the brakes!
Anyway, took the plunge the other day and removed the 2 rear seats cause I didn't fancy fitting seatbelts on them to get it through the MOT.
Then decided to move the fuel tank from under the front seat to the space they have left. Now looking at the tank I see the outlet fuel pipe has been cut off too low to get a decent fit with a clip so wondered if anyone knows of any adhesive I could fix a sleeve over what's left to give me a better fuel line to pipe fix.

Hi

I think you would be better served looking for a better solution than trying to seal a piece on what you have.

If you are unable to get a clip on there it sounds really short.

It's more work, but could you get a new pipe brazed on to existing pipe?

This would be a more permanent fix. Most adhesives don't react well with fuel.

Devcon is pretty good stuff a two part epoxy with alloy powder in the mix sets up pretty strong and can even be drilled and tapped for low stress situations, so might be a fix for you. Possibly add a bit more pipe using it to give you a bit more length.

Thanks Stix, I'll take a look at that.

Pauly, that would be the best fix, but the tank is fitted with a blue foam, (I guess to stop the fuel slopping about), so would almost be impossible to braze without blowing myself up.  Grin
