As some of you know I had problems last year finding a local, class 3 (trike) MOT test station, as all the available lists were out of date. VOSA suggested that all I could do was phone every MOT centre until I found one that did Class 3.
Have you any idea how many MOT centres there are in a twenty mile radius. It's an f'in lot. I got so peed of that I even complained to VOSA /DVSA  not that I expected anything to change Angry
In March this year (updated in May) the DVSA produced a document called Active MOT Test Stations.  Grin
The centres are listed by number not location, which is not very helpful as there are 22000 to search through but shows classes of MOT done at each one.  Undecided
Luckily it's done in excel so with a bit of flaffing around you can at least reduce it to just class 3. Smiley
Now here's where it all goes wrong.
To make this all new list they used the data from the old out of date lists so it's useless.  Angry Angry Angry

You'd think in this modern age of technology, information would be instantly available, but it just seems to convey wrong information quicker.
I saw something on FaceBook the other day about the guy who used to do the MOTs at the Cliddesden garage, where you used to go. Apparently he's now working at another garage somewhere close to the old one, & doing MOTs again. Might be worth searching for local garages & finding out which one he's at.

The new guy who took over Cliddesden is now doing trikes so there is no problem at the moment and I also found one in Andover. I just figured that I'd check through the 'new' info from DVSA and try to compile a list of trike MOT centres to make it easier for others.
Seems they don't actually know who does what. If a centre has ever done a particular class of MOT then it's assumed that they always will but as we know the certified tester can move, get sacked, retire etc.
Many of the centres stopped doing trikes years ago as they felt it wasn't enough profit. At least one garage in Basingstoke hasn't done trike MOT's for over ten years but is still on the list.

I have a link to a site that lists the current MOT stations by area, when I get to work in the morning I will post it here.

If it's ukmot.com or motfinder, they still use the same out of date lists.

Could be, not used them for a few years. But keep it just in case.

No and yes.
No- The 'new' 2017 list- https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/active-mot-test-stations
Yes-Tried  to use- http://www.motuk.com last year and the local ones listed had stopped doing trikes. Checked it again and the results given haven't changed.
Think that list was compiled in 2012 from the Gov. list of 2010 that was already out of date.

I wonder if you could compile a list of professional vehicle licence authorities, or even agencies in the UK?
Can you have such a tjing as a negative list?

Just had Eloise MOTed at  Cliddesden. A nice guy with an interst in older vehicles, that likes to see something different. I would say he's on our side.
