cx500 propshaft advice help

hi

New to the forum so hi from Wolverhampton.

I,m building a swingarm conversion trike for the wife. Simple enough I thought but I,m finding it hard to find info on how to do the propshaft conversion.
 Do I use the reliant propshaft so I have a matching pair of ujays and a adapter plate into the motor or the ujay off the cx at the front then adapt near back axle before the reliant ujay.
 Has anyone got any pics or info on this .I know it,s been done hundreds of time.

 Thanks for the reply.

 Front end of the shaft is cx500 but what is the second ujay before the adapter plate. Is it another chopped down cx shaft ?

No, its a piece cut of a smaller diameter industrial prop. I happened to have, but you can do the same by cutting the axle end of your Reliant prop. and either machine or get one machined, a m's muff to fit and weld, that will marry the two together. I used the industrial prop as it was neater in diam. and like I say, I happened to have it in the workshop, Morrag

 Cheers.  I,ll chop up the reliant shaft and take a look inside, see what I can nock up.

You'll need a lathe and someone to weld it, get it right and It'll be well enough ballanced.
