Do you have to notify when you add a sidecar or remove one

A very good question Kev. I've never owned a sidecar, but did once own a "SideWinder", (a hinged fibreglass platform on a single wheel designed to get around the learner regs that said you could ride any bike you wanted on L plates if it had a sidecar. I'm guessing that's no longer the case. Never fitted it to anything.
Rode on the back of a bike fitted with a sidecar once -one of the most terrifying experiences of my life.

Back when I was a lad we just bolted them on,told the insurance company and off we went, don't know if the law has changed but possibly it might come under the same rules as a Bolton swingarm trike conversion.

Used to see RD250 and 350's with Sidewinders on. It drove the coppers round the bend.
