Never did get sorted but got the money back. After spending a lot of time looking I decided to go with a cooper smithing rear guard. I ordered it from lowbrow in the states Friday afternoon and it was with me Monday morning. Fantastic service. The guard is lovely, really nicely made and fits the tyre great.

Now I need to figure out how to mount it as I don't really want to run a sissy bar or rear supports. I've been umming and ahhing over this tank for a while and I'm pretty sure I don't like it, so will change that too. I think it makes the lines too steep and makes the bike look real short. I tried on the other tank I have and much prefer the look so will sort another one out soon for it.

I'm just about to order a PMA alternator set-up from Low Brow, so that's encouraging.
Have to agree about the tank Archie. It's quite a short looking frame anyway, (quite a steep seat rail angle from the photo), & that tank accentuates it. Looking nice though mate.

So I ordered up a new tank with a high tunnel.

Mocked up on the bike with the guard and smaller seat from the other Xs. Pretty much there with the lines now. To get the tank on I've had to chop the front guessets on the frame about a bit. Once it's at strip down I can even it all up a bit. But for now looks ok. Just need to mount the mudguard properly.

Forgot to get a side on shot, but this pretty much gives an idea of how the new tank sits

I've lost a bit of motivation for these while our house purchasbia going through. I went up today to put some miles on the 1100, and had a seat to try as I've never really been happy with the 2 I've got. Lo and behold much better - looks how I want it too. Has given me a little splurge of enthusiasm again.

Amazing how quickly time goes past when looking back at projects ? Are you aiming to emulate MMs pace of building or longer ? Grin
I must admit those xs chops do look good, but dam everyone of them seems to be jinxed when building ? Shocked
