 D72 British Bellytank Made a dashboard, very rough and simple at moment may change to wood with a couple of slight curves below for knees. All the basic items here apart from 1 more toggle switch required. May not use the voltmeter as I only fitted it because it came in the set. |

I assume the red button's the Start & the Kill switch is obviously Stop -so what does the black button do?

Thank you. The black button is a green indicator lamp to show gearbox is in park via the start inhibit relay. Only 3 switched items on the car ignition, fuel pump and fan. Using a mechanical waterpump on this car so no switch needed unlike on the Trabant. Apart from the 2 kill switches, 1 in cockpit and 1 external at the rear that's about it. Maybe another for a rear light but apparently that is only required for Santa Pod.

Inhibitor -very sensible. Seen a few incidents where they weren't fitted or didn't work, (had a scary moment with my own Pop once too, when it dropped into gear while on tickover & trundled off backwards on it's own. Only the quick reactions of a mate stopped it ploughing through a neighbour's fence).
So what class will you be racing in?

 Will you be out in 2017? I'm not a massive drag racing fan, but always do the Hotrod Drags & Nostalgia Nationals at Shakey because they're "oldie" themed.

Make sure you have alternative plans as we have missed many deadlines. So in the back ground of the last few photos was the seat, or as it is now known 'The wingback bomber seat'. It all started with a very excited Mr Conner as he could finally now start building his rocket ship.  (stole that comment from someone else)  D72 British Bellytank And came up with this. Also here is the first steering wheel cross brace and Gareths first ever attempt at a butterfly wheel made in his youth. Both of which are long gone  D72 British Bellytank |

 D72 British Bellytank Once we had the seat in and a couple of bits of wood to simulate the cushion it became evident the steering wheel angle felt wrong. |
