D72 British Bellytank This is the line I wanted to achieve, nice flow into the body. Now to cover in body butter (filler) and start sanding again.

D72 British Bellytank Gave it a coat of grey paint before waxing and polishing 8 times. The paint was more as a guide for laying up the fibreglass.

D72 British Bellytank Jamie came by the workshop and 30 mins later done. No gel goat used in this mould, as you don't really need it for the mould only the part your making. Left it to cure for a couple of days.

D72 British Bellytank A couple of days later we we popped the mould of and trimmed up the edges leaving flange larger than the actual part needed. And then once again just like the body which I had spent months shaping by hand we smashed up the buck and the temp body section and threw it in the bin. After a tidy up placed the mould on the body to see what it may look like. I think Mr Conner needs a booster seat.

And maybe a little less toe-in at the front. Looks fantastic. Make it road legal!

D72 British Bellytank So, back to the front end. Had a problem with shocks being here as they hit the axle when the front spring compressed under the weight the first time it came off the jig.

D72 British Bellytank And moving the shocks out of the way of the axle will then affect the steering rack mounted up top here.

D72 British Bellytank Decided to work on something else for a while, front hairpin mounts. Used the original Sherpa shock mount cut in half, rotated 90 degrees and welded back together. Mocked up with a couple of rose joints and ali tube.

D72 British Bellytank Gareth machined up this end for the hairpins and then realised we needed 9 more. Cheers bud.
