I called in on my brother Steve at his workshop in Wiltshire today. Dave was there too, ("The Ferret" altered? -the guy who broke his foot earlier this season when he ran it over while pushing the car). Steve's building a new rollcage for "Oblivion", the Avenger bodied funny car at the moment. They both said to say Hi.  Wink

Side trackin from the thread for a moment  Roll Eyes - remember Oblivion from way back...... UKDRN have a thread with a few pics

Gearbox mount, will have additional bracing on bracket when final welding is done.

And rear axle mount, bit more welding required.

Spring mounts in place, one of the few items we brought as making from scratch seemed a ball ache. Almost ready to see if chassis will fit inside the body.

And touch down, and the first problem. The spring compressed so much the bottom of the shocks are now touching the top of the axle (Poo) so shocks will have to be repositioned.

Same set-up as my Pop. I've got the original wish bone, split in half to make radius arms, attached through the spring mounts. Morris Minor rear lever arms, (stiffer than the front ones), on the side of the chassis with drop links to the radius arms.

Had to read that twice to picture it my head, but I think its the same sort of set up we changed to. My terminology of parts is a bit vague as I really have no clue mechanically about what parts are really called, but am learning. Grin

So front end needed modifying but we tested the fit of the chassis inside the body while off the jig.

Back to the front end. Had to rethink the front end as we only get one chance to drill holes in the body so left that till later.
