Here are a few photos from this year's FoS, the first batch taken on the Thursday, (technically "The Moving Motor Show" day, as the Festival runs Fri - Sat incl)
This is a re-creation of the 1905 Isotta Fraschini Fiat, with straight 8 engine and a tyre-wrenching 820 ft/lb of torque.

The new Ford GT.
Ford raced the new Ford GT at the 2016 Le Man 24hr last weekend, 50 years since they first won Le Man.
In fact, Ford won in '66, '67, '68 & '69 and numbered the 2016 entry of four cars (yes, you've guessed it) 66, 67, 68, and 69 - and they won their class!

Parked up together are a selection of original Ford GT 40s, including the prototype, a wide body and one of the three that was in the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place victory in 1966 (as well as winning Sebring and Daytona!)

Some of you may be aware of the "Michigan Madman", the late E. Potter. He built some wild and wacky cars & bikes in his day, and this is his 450 horsepower alcohol burning, 6.5 litre Chevrolet V8 bike. (in fact, this one's his 7th varient). He used to start by having the rear of the bike elevated on a stand, engine running, back wheel spinning, and then simply drop the back wheel onto the drag strip!! Not sure how this years rider, Clyde Hensley, will tackle pulling away, will have to see tomo. As far as I know this bike hasn't been to the UK before. http://www.mankymonkeymotors.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=11177.0

40 years ago, back in 1976, we had two world champions, James Hunts on four wheels, and Barry Sheene on two.
This little Austin is what James used to drive around town

If one engine ain't enough, you can always add another, and if that's too slow........ add another.
This triple-engine Yamaha was built by Texan Pat Miller in 1970 using three, 350cc grand prix engines.
Quiet it most certainly ain't!

That was the worst part of the site, and early (ish) morning too. There's lots of the metal-driveway in use to help, and Friday's forecast is decent so reckon it'll dry pretty well - at least on Friday............. Unfortunately Sat's forecast is currently showing pretty wet in the pm, fingers crossed it stays dry
